Work has officially begun on the new $130 million, 80-bed Bethesda West Hospital.  Bethesda West is being built on the northeast corner of Boynton Beach Boulevard and U.S. 441 in West Boynton Beach, FL.  Also located on the property will be a new medical office building and a lake so that visitors can enjoy the natural surroundings while they wait for their loved ones.  The new Bethesda West will serve as a satellite campus for the 401-bed Bethesda Memorial Hospital to the east on Seacrest Boulevard in Boynton Beach.    Construction is estimated to take about 30 months to complete.

Bethesda Healthcare System’s initial plans for Bethesda West Hospital include building an acute care hospital with general medical, surgical and intensive care services; outpatient services; and a 24-hour emergency department.

The new Bethesda West Hospital will be a beautiful, state-of-the-art, environmentally sound facility that complements the architecture of the surrounding area and features: all private patient rooms; intensive care rooms; full service operating room suites for inpatient and outpatient surgery; post-anesthesia care treatment areas; a 24-hour emergency department with 18 patient treatment areas; general medical and surgical services; a full complement of diagnostic services including MRI, CT, general radiography and mammography.

Bethesda, which has proudly served South Palm Beach County since 1959, opened one of the first outpatient medical facilities to serve West Boynton with the opening of Bethesda Health City in 1996. This 137,000 square foot outpatient medical mall provides a comprehensive array of services including diagnostic imaging, laboratory services and private physicians’ offices spanning an array of specialties. Bethesda West Hospital will complete the continuum of vital healthcare services that are needed to sustain the ever-growing West Boynton Beach community.
