Don’t miss Santa Claus’ traditional candy giveaway along Fort Lauderdale Beach! Santa Claus and his elves will walk along Fort Lauderdale Beach, providing beachgoers with candy canes and holiday treats. Santa's route will begin at the Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Administration Building, located at 1350 W. Broward Boulevard, beginning at noon. The Santa motorcade will then travel:

• East on Broward Boulevard to S.W. 7th Avenue
• South on S.W. 7th Avenue to S.W. 2nd Street
• East on S.W. 2nd Street to Andrews Avenue
• South on Andrews Avenue to Las Olas Boulevard
• East on Las Olas Boulevard to A1A
• South on A1A to the International Swimming Hall of Fame (501 Seabreeze Boulevard)

Santa and his elves will begin passing out treats on Fort Lauderdale Beach across from the Oasis Cafe, located at 600 Seabreeze Boulevard. They will continue walking north along the beach to Birch State Park, located at A1A and Sunrise Boulevard. For more information, call (954) 828-PARK (7275).

The 2011 holidays are herewith all the festivities for the holiday season in Downtown Delray Beach! Below you will find the calendar of events for the month of December, as well as the schedule for the December 1st 100 Ft Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Location of the Tree Lighting Ceremony will be at Old School Square and the "On the Ave" street event will take place on Atlantic Avenue from Swinton to 6th Ave.

Head out for a fun evening on the Ave and watch the 2011 100 ft Christmas Tree Lighting & Celebrate the Holidays!

Tradewinds Holiday Lights 5k Run & Fitness Walk at Tradewinds Park
Saturday, November 12, 2011

Enjoy the holiday season with this unique evening race on a USATF-Certified course illuminated by thousands of lights and larger-than-life animated displays. The 5k course is flat, fast and ideal for setting a personal best! Awards will be given out in 9 categories for both male and female.

Participants will be using the ChronoTrack Timing System, the worlds most advanced timing system, which is chipless and slides easily into your shoe laces. All race results will be posted at www.splitsecondtiming.com. Each participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt of the event. Enjoy post-race activities with fellow runners/walkers as well.

Restrictions: No pets, skateboards, in-line skates or bicycles will be allowed. Strollers are permitted.

Want to Walk?

The Fitness Walk will begin at 7 PM and takes place on the 5k course but will not be timed or scored. Strollers are permitted.

Kids are welcome too...The Kids' Fun Run will begin at 6 PM and is FREE
run will be held on the soccer field for children ages 12 and under.

Restrictions: No pets, skateboards, in-line skates or bicycles will be allowed.

The City of Parkland Farmer’s Market is back by popular demand for our 4th year! This year will top all others with our continued partnership with Mercantil Commercebank as the presenting sponsor! The Opening Day Market will be held on November 6, 2011 from 9:00am till 1:00pm at the Equestrian Center, 8350 Ranch Road, Parkland, FL 33067. Opening day activities will include a free bounce house, live music, pony rides for the kids, special give-a-ways, cooking demos and much more. Over 80 vendors will be selling everything from fresh produce, creative cupcakes, fresh pasta, herbs, teas, gourmet breads, Amish jams and jellies, fresh cheese, gourmet oils and dips, vegan and gluten free food, and much more! From the North
Take the Turnpike to the Sawgrass Expressway. Take the Sawgrass West to University Drive. Take a right (North) on University Drive and then make a right on Holmberg Road. When on Holmberg Road the Farmer's Market will be on the left hand side.

From the South
Take 441 North to Holmberg Road. Make a left at Holmberg Road and head west about 2 miles. The Farmer's Market will be on the right hand side after the 2nd turnaround.

Fort Lauderdale Trick or Treat on Second Street
Saturday, October 30, 2010 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Join the City of Fort Lauderdale Parks & Recreation Department, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, The Museum of Discovery and Science and the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society for games, amusements, and adventure from 1pm to 5pm, Saturday, October 30, 2010 for the Fort Lauderdale Trick or Treat on Second Street.

The afternoon of fun culminates with the Riverwalk Howl-o-Ween Pet and Kid Parade and Costume contest at 4p. The parade starts at 4pm in Esplanade Park and ends at the New River Inn.
