Benefiting Feeding South Florida
Drop Off starts October 11, 2011

The City of Parkland wants to give back to those in need during this holiday sea-son. The City of Parkland will donate all food collected to Feeding South Florida. For the 4th consecutive year, Parkland staff will be collecting food until November 14, 2011. The holidays are just around the corner and for Parkland City employees that means the start of helping those less fortunate during this special season. The City invites all residents to join in this important food drive so please visit City Hall, Public Works, Parkland Library, YMCA and the Amphitheater at Pine Trails Park to drop off any and all donations. If you have any questions, please call City Hall at 954 753-5040.

We encourage you to drop off goods for the food drive.  The YMCA is located directly across from Parkland Reserve.

Centerline Homes, Florida’s premier homebuilder for the past 18 years, is excited to announce that they are supporting and participating in the 15th annual Central Florida Susan G. Komen “Race For The Cure.” This years’ event is a 5 mile run/walk to be held on Sunday October 16th, 2011. The run begins at 7:00 AM and the starting point is the Bright House Networks Stadium at the University of Central Florida. Participants can register online until October 11th at www.komencentralflorida.org

In 2010 the Central Florida affiliate of Susan G. Komen “for the cure” raised over $600,000 to be awarded in 2011. Thousands of people still need assistance for the screening and treatment that saves lives. “We are very proud to be a participant in this years’ race,” said Deb Marton, Centerline Homes’ Vice-President of Sales. “They’re a great organization and Team Centerline supports all the women in our lives.”

Help Kids Kick Cancer 5k Run/Walk in Vero Beach
Race Date: 06/04/2011 Race Time: 7:30 AM                             
Race Location: South Beach Park, Vero Beach
Course: Scenic, fast and flat course though the neighborhood surrounding South Beach Park.

Entry Fees: $20 before race day, $25 race day. Shirts to first 150 registered participants.

Race Awards: Overall male/ female, masters male/female, top 3 finishers male and female in the following age groups: 9 & under,10-14,15-19,20-29,30-39,40-49,50-59,60-69, 70 &over

Packet Pickup: Friday June 3rd at Runner's Depot (436 21st St, Vero Beach) from 10am - 5pm. Race day starting at 6:30am.

Purpose of this race: benifit non- profit oganization Maya Matters to support the cure of cancer in children.

Directions to South Beach Park, Vero Beach: I95 exit 147, head east on SR 60 (20th St) for 8 miles to Indian River Blvd and turn right, go 2 traffic lights to 17th St Causeway and turn left (east), follow to beach and South Beach Park.
