Beautiful Cranes Roost Park lights up with an immensely popular festival and fireworks display that includes live music from nationally and international known entertainers, as well as an awesome fireworks display and food/beverage booths at the Red Hot & Boom! Independence Day Celebration. Sponsored by the City of Altamonte Springs and XL 106.7 FM, Red Hot & Boom! is the largest Independence Day celebration in Central Florida.
Admission to 2011 Red Hot & Boom! is free and performances run from 4 PM to 11 PM. The fireworks display by Pyro Shows, Inc. takes place at 9:30 PM. Red Hot & Boom! also will be simulcast on XL 106.7 FM. Note: No pets, coolers or personal fireworks are allowed at Red Hot & Boom!

This is a FUN event that revolves around both running AND eating. You do NOT have to eat the food, but it will be available for you if you are brave enough!

Downtown Orlando’s biggest parties are centered around the usual venues of Church Street Bars and Wall Street with Church Street’s Drinko De Mayo party and Wall Street’s Cinco de Mayo Block Party. The Church Street party will feature a free Mexican buffet and free sombreros to the first 100 attendees. Wall Street has it’s Mexican restaurant and bar Wall Street Cantina amongst it’s 7 other venues and will feature their whole street decked out in pinatas, sombreros, and other Mexican decor.
Cinco de Mayo in Thornton Park A couple of other spots to check out in Downtown Orlando over in Thornton Park is Mucho Tequila and Tacos Restaurant that will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with their Mucho de Mayo Party and Tijuana Flats that will have Deals on Corona’s and Corona Lights.

San Angel Inn offers grilled Mahi Mahi and Tacos de Ribeye for a relaxing sit-down dinner. La Cava del Tequila serves tapas-style dishes.

Cranes Roost Park is at the heart of Uptown Altamonte surrounding Cranes Roost Lake.
The lake is encircled by one mile of continuous walkway with benches and covered seating areas. Within the 45-acre park is a European-style Plaza which includes a choreographed fountain show and a 62’ picturesque tower as well as the Eddie Rose Amphitheater with stadium-style seating and a one-of-a-kind floating stage. Residents and visitors will note the cobblestone-style pathways, ionic columns, gathering areas with seating, themed lighting fixtures all ready for leisurely strolls, listening to music or just enjoying the beauty of the park.
