U.S. Coast Guard Advisory

The U.S. Coast Guard has issued the following advisory with regard to 4th of July events that are staged in coastal areas. These events have the potential to impact endangered species and/or a critical habitat, including but not limited to sea grass. Please make sure to heed the following directions:

On July 4, 2010, the U.S. Coast Guard has instituted a "no anchoring policy" in effect for all vessels in the Intracoastal Waterway, in Boynton Beach, Florida.

Location:  1730 N. Federal Hwy., Boynton Beach, Fl. 33435 (I95 to Gateway Blvd exit head east to US 1/Federal Highway restaurant will be on the left)

Palm Beach Community Bank and the Greater Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce present “Taste of Boynton”.  This year our Event Sponsor Palm Beach Community Bank is presenting an evening of fine food and fine wine.  Our Wine Tasting Sponsor Total Wine & More from Boynton Town Center will take attendees on a World Tour of Wines.  A share of the Auction proceeds will benefit the Chamber Education Scholarship Foundation.  Dance music provided by Cricklewood.

Before heading to the tasting be sure to stop by Briella in West Boynton Beach.

Work has officially begun on the new $130 million, 80-bed Bethesda West Hospital.  Bethesda West is being built on the northeast corner of Boynton Beach Boulevard and U.S. 441 in West Boynton Beach, FL.  Also located on the property will be a new medical office building and a lake so that visitors can enjoy the natural surroundings while they wait for their loved ones.  The new Bethesda West will serve as a satellite campus for the 401-bed Bethesda Memorial Hospital to the east on Seacrest Boulevard in Boynton Beach.    Construction is estimated to take about 30 months to complete.

Guided Nature Walk at Green Cay Nature Center
Date:  Saturdays 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and  1:00 p.m. and Tuesdays 4:00 p.m.
Location:  Green Cay Nature Center

Take a FREE 45 minute guided nature walk along the boardwalk and learn a little something about nature.  Open to all ages.

Directions to Green Cay Nature Center:  Florida Turnpike Exit Boynton Beach Blvd. head east to Hagen Ranch Road turn south (right) approx 2.5 miles destination will be on the right.

The nature center is closed during observed holidays.  The nature center will be closed on Sundays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The boardwalk will remain open.

Boynton Beach Hosts Mayor’s Challenge Commit2BFit 3K Walk

When:  Saturday, May 8
Location:  129 E. Ocean Av., Boynton Beach 33435 (I95 exit Boynton Beach Blvd head east to Seacrest turn right, East Ocean will be on your left.
Check-in: takes place at the Children’s Schoolhouse Museum at 7:30 A.M.

The first 200 walkers will receive a free “2010 Mayor’s Challenge…Commit2BFit” t-shirt.

The 3K or 1.87 mile walk route will begin at the Schoohouse Children’s Museum.  Participants will head east along Ocean Ave. to Federal Hwy., before turning north to Boynton Beach Blvd.  They will then walk east to the Boynton Harbor Marina, where they will find a water station, and then walk south on the pathway under the Ocean Ave. bridge.  They will then head west on Ocean Ave., returning to the Museum, where a light continental-style breakfast will be served.
